Isn't that a lovely thought?
Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity
and passing over transgression
for the remnant of His inheritance?
He does not retain His anger forever,
because He delights in steadfast love.
He will again have compassion on us;
He will tread our iniquities underfoot.
You will cast all our sins
into the depths of the sea.
You will show faithfulness to Jacob
and steadfast love to Abraham,
as You have sworn to our fathers
from the days of old.

A Photo You Took
Day 9.
Where I live, snow is very rare. You may see a snow flurry once each year. It will lightly snow for ten minutes, but none of it sticks to the ground. So I have never seen real snow. That is until February of 2010 when a snowstorm swept across the nation. After 14 long years of waiting, I experienced my first snowfall.
Here is an unedited picture I took while we trekked across the snow.

A Favorite Word or Two
Day 8.
I am always attempting to expand my vocabulary. The problem comes in when I use big words to make me sound smarter, I use the word in the wrong context. -_- I'm working on that.
But for now, here is the word of the day from dictionary.com:
Cosmogony
A theory or story of the origin and development of the universe.
Just remember to use it in the correct context...

Why?
Tragedies. We hear about them, read about them, and then we experience them.
The girl who died in the car wreck. The dad who has cancer. The toddler who has a bad heart. The mom that had a miscarriage. Tornadoes that ravage a city. Planes that crash into a world trade center and kill thousands of innocent lives.
It's horrible. It's tear-jerking. It's somewhat sickening.
Every person or family has their own tragedy, but it seems like every person or family asks the same question. "Why?"
"If there really is a God up in the sky, why would he let something like this happen?"
I have asked these questions many times, and I think I understand now.
If there is evil, there must be good. If there is a darkness, there must be a light.
If all we ever had was good, then we would be satisfied. If nothing bad ever happened, we would never need a hope. We would never need grace. We would never need Jesus.
Tragedy isn't evidence for the absence of God. It is evidence of how much we need Him.
But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed...
-2 Corinthians 4:7-9
